Thank you for visiting and shopping at Rat & Parrot Bookstore. The following are the terms and conditions that constitute our Delivery & Shipping Policy.
1. Domestic Shipping Policy
Shipment Processing Time
  • Processing duration: All orders are processed within [e.g., 1–2 business days].
  • Weekend exceptions: Orders placed on Sunday are shipped and delivered the following week when business resumes.
  • High-volume delays: If we are experiencing a high volume of orders, shipments may be delayed by a few days (2 days). Please allow additional days in transit for delivery. If there will be a significant delay in shipment of your order, we will contact you via email or telephone support@ratandparrot.com or +256 742 173 052 respectively.
Shipping Rates & Delivery Estimates
  • Calculated costs: Shipping charges for your order will be calculated and displayed at checkout.
  • Standard delivery: [dependant on client’s current location / Free over UGX 200,000] — [e.g., 1 business day]. All other Orders outside unregistered zones are charged UGX 30,000.
  • Express delivery: [+UGX 5,000] — issued at checkout (easily turned on and off) as an additional fee to the normal delivery fee.
  • Delivery delays: Delivery delays can occasionally occur due to unforeseen courier issues;
    1. Bad weather: Heavy rain, floods, or storms force drivers to slow down or stop for safety.
    2. Strikes and road issues: Traffic jams, blocked roads, or worker strikes completely halt transit networks. 
    3. Recipient and Delivery Failures
      • Not at home: If a buyer is unreachable or not present, the driver must reschedule the drop-off.
      • Security rules: Gated communities or strict building access slow down the final drop-off step.
